Manage account security

Open Profile & Preferences, then choose Security to review the main security controls for your personal Bytes account.

These controls belong to your user account rather than to an individual workspace.

Change your password

Use Change Password when you need to replace your current password.

After a successful password change, Bytes keeps the device where you made the change signed in and ends your other active browser sessions. This helps remove access from another device if your password may have been known elsewhere.

A password reset through the forgotten-password flow ends all existing sessions for the account.

Review active sessions

The Active Sessions area shows browser sessions currently associated with your account.

For each session, Bytes shows safe account-access information such as:

  • browser and operating-system label
  • whether it is This device
  • a masked IP address when available
  • when the session was last active

Bytes does not display the raw session cookie, raw session ID or stored session payload.

Use the filters to narrow the list to this device or other devices, or search the visible device and masked-IP information.

Sign out another device

Choose Sign out for a session you no longer recognise or no longer use, then confirm the action.

The selected session loses access immediately. Your current device stays signed in.

Sign out all other devices

Use Sign out of all other devices to end every other active session at once.

This is useful after a security concern or when you have signed in on several shared or older devices. Bytes preserves the session on the device where you perform the action.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication remains planned and is still shown as Coming soon. It is not currently an active account-security control.
